CHALLENGE
Design a portfolio featuring sculpture and public installation artwork
WEBSITE
The goal was to direct art collectors and buyers to the site to view the client's work and commission custom artwork from them. So a traditional 4-page format was chosen with a home page slideshow, portfolio page, about and contact card. The client's portfolio was broken down into two categories, one highlighting their public installation art and the other featuring their smaller sculpture work. On the 'about' page, potential buyers can read about the client's artistic philosophy and process.
DESIGN
The client has an expansive portfolio of public art commissions for high-end restaurants and hotels, and sculptures. Using these high-profile pieces as anchors, I featured the client's most recognizable art on the home page slideshow and created two portfolio categories to easily differentiate from public art and sculpture.
I chose a serif for headers and titles, and a sans-serif for the body text to compliment the client's artwork. For the palette: black, cream, lavender and orange as accents.
